Gove Scrivenor to showcase new CD at the Hog’s Breath’s Writers’ Room

Singer-songwriter Gove Scrivenor will put on two performances at the Hog’s Breath Saloon’s Upstairs Writers’ Room, tonight and tomorrow. Tickets are $15 and the doors open at 7:30 p.m.

Scrivenor, who won a Emmy for one of two performances on Austin City Limits, toured in the ‘70s with Jimmy Buffett and the original Coral Reefer Band. He recently opened for John Prince in Miami and Prine appears on the new CD – “Shine On” – as do Nanci Griffith and Lari White.

Gove, often called a “high energy folk blues” artist, brings story telling to new heights with original songs, ballads and his musical rapport with audiences of all ages. His two earlier CDs – “Shady Gove” and “Coconut Gove” – featured such artists as Doc Watson, John Hardford, Marty Stuart, Ben Keith and Dave Loggins.

Catch the guru of folk-blues music at his only Key West appearance and be consumed for a while with more than 30 years of original music and talent.
